Jyri Engeström
Jyri Engeström is a Finnish sociologist and an entrepreneur who is a co-founder of the activity stream and micro-blogging service Jaiku.
He joined Google with the rest of the Jaiku team when Google acquired the startup in October 2007, and moved to San Francisco, CA to work at Google Headquarter in Mountainvie, CA, in the United States.
Jyri left his work at Google in October 2009 to return to Finland with his family.
Before founding Jaiku, Jyri worked at Nokia Corporation where he co-headed the design of Nokia.com
He also, together with a group of friends co-founded Aula (Finnish for "lobby"), a nonprofit cooperative to advance the vision of a creative society.
